Ardbeg and DJ BBQ – the start of a smoky collaboration

The Islay distillery invites to "The Smoke Sessions", virtual events with BBQ and cocktail fun

Cooperating with Christian Stevenson aka DJ BBQ, Ardbeg has brought a well-known BBQ guru on board to show the friends of the Islay whisky new ways to enjoy the peated whisky. Videos and a kickoff live stream are about delicious BBQ specialties that match with the Ardbeg smoke. The Ardbeg Ten, An Oa and Wee Beastie are used in cocktails for a smoky food pairing.

In a press release, Ardbeg DJ BBQ gives a little preview on what to expect: “My smoky barbecue recipes share so many characteristics with the flavours of Ardbeg whisky and they complement each other perfectly. The laws of wood, heat and smoke are so important to barbecue and single malt alike, and once mastered, you’ll become a barbecue boss.”
“The taste of braised beef fillet alongside an Arbeg Ten Old Fashioned is just awesome and a sip of hot Wee Beastie Punch with a slow smoked pork shoulder is unrivalled.”
“Remember, patience is key to maximise that wonderful flame-grilled flavour, it’s only done when it’s done. The Ardbeg Smoke Sessions series will show you that it’s easy to go beyond the realms of basic barbecue burgers with a little creativity and a ton of smoky goodness.”

Tomorrow, July 24, 2020, Ardbeg and DJ BBQ invite you to an Instagram live session. The virtual event, which Brendan McCarron, Ardbeg's Head of Maturing Whisky Stocks, will also take part in, begins at 8pm BST / 9pm CEST.

To "get your taste in", Videos of Ardbeg Smoke Sessions are already online. They can be watched on the Ardbeg channels on Instagram and Facebook and of course on YouTube, too.
