Comment: The Glenlivet 15-year old French Oak Reserve is a wonderful example of contrasts between the nose and taste experience in a whisky. Fruits and desserts provide a warm welcome on the nose. But the palate is dominated by spice and pleasant bitter notes. Complementary spice on the nose and sweetness on the tongue are present only as fine threads within the blankets of scent and taste, respectively.
This whisky's finish is a bit thin, which prevents it from earning highest marks. But there is complexity of flavor in the residual aftertaste. This is perhaps the first whisky experience through which I have fully grasped the missed opportunities inherent to lower-strength ABV and what might-have-been if not for chill filtration.

Comment: finish medium long, very pleasant.

Taste: Smooth with Heavy Floral Notes, Sherry, Sweet, Definitely some Oak (As to be expected from an Oak Cask), Hints of Cinnamon and subtle hints of Nuts
Finish: Sweet Honey Apple, A light touch of peat maybe some smoke, with a nice alcohol and spice finish
Comment: The Glenlivet 15 YO French Oak Reserve definitely compliments a nice Habano or even a Maduro Cigar. Personally I find that whiskeys from The Glenlivet Distillery stand on their own without a cigar, however I find that I find the subtle aromas and flavors much easier when pairing them with a nice cigar (But then again that is just ME)
