Nosing:
Aromatic, vanilla, cut flowers and beneath, a clean, toasty note. Increasingly sweet and creamy, with fresh citrus, lemon cheesecake.
Taste:
Sweet, soft start becoming flowery. Crisp mid-palate then butter icing, lemon cheesecake and freesias.
Finish:
Herbal and drying, a little like pot-pourri

Lowland whiskies tend to be overlooked by many whisky drinkers. That's unjustified! Being a rather light, soft and floral Single Malt, Glenkinchie 12 has a surprising complexity. The nose is mildly grainy and fruity with honey, nuts and caramel. It's a busy nose that needs a bit of time to open up. The taste is full-bodied with ripe fruits, honey, pepper and a malty spiciness. It turns slightly dry, and there is an occasional spiritiness coming through. The finish is fresh and spicy - but rather short. An easy-access Single Malt with some remarkable character to it!
