Comment: I've heard this is somewhat smoky; it is not. I've heard from the distillery itself in an interview, they do not peat this one. I think people hear it's an Islay and automatically think it is....this one exhibits a lot of nuttiness and a balanced sherry profile. This is not Glendronach levels of sherry influence, but it also has this chocalatey thing going on...this is a fresh pour so i can imagine this one changing over the course of a few months of drinking and being open.

Finish:
long linger with nuts and caramel and hints of herb
Comment:
I heard this drum has a episode that former US president Reagan loved it then served it at his party because the word "westering home" on the label was used as a tribute to him. So I weighted this whiskey with colored glasses a bit. But thing is definitely different. The aroma is quite decent like the one sherry type not too much intense, but with great dried fruits following nuts, plum, caramel and vanilla. Finish is very linger , of course. Quite great one for me.
