Laphroaig 10 Years

This famous Malt has an extremely smoky flavor with a hint of seaweed and other marine flavours. It is one of the most intense Islay malts. You hate it or you love it.

Comment: "SMOKEY THE BEAR" - It's really damned tasty, though! But you gotta like campfire smoke in your mouth in order to agree.

Nosing: Peat Smoke Medicinal Smoke Seaweed Malt

Taste: Peat Smoke Medicinal Smoke Seaweed Salt Lemon Malt

Finish: Peat Smoke Medicinal Smoke Salt

Comment: Very strong peaty Islay whisky. The expression of peat overwhelmed other flavours such as citrus notes. Still a very god drink but the aftertaste is not long enough.

Comment:
A Peet if ever there was one, but with a complex scent in the beginning and a smooth, aggressive, warm sneaky appearance in the end. Enjoyable for a drink at my favorite spot, but not one to take home.

Taste: Iodine Iodine Iodine Seaweed Medicinal Smoke

Finish: Peat Smoke Peat Smoke Salt Iodine

Comment: This was also on my bucket list and I could recognize this whisky from hundred's of any kind of single malts. With the nosing there is a very very intense peat smoke and maybe a little maritime notes in the back like iodione, salt but this is only after second or third nosing.
The taste is not as peaty as the nose and what I expected. The iodine and the seaweed is the dominant maybe with some saltiness as well.
The finish is rather peaty again but the iodine and salt is still there.
It is really a whisky which you hate or love. I rather loved it and recommend it!
