The new bottling of Talisker has been matured partly in freshly toasted oak casks. The Talisker Skye should replace the 10-year-old single malt.
Nosing:
Light pepper and earthy aromas with sea salt and smoke. Fruitiness of orange and mango.
Taste:
soft, sweet and slightly smoky. Then spice of salted caramel with honey and barbecue flavors.

Nosing: Peat Smoke Medicinal Smoke Maritime Notes Seaweed Dark Chocolate Coffee Malt Fruit Zitrus Wheat Dried Fruit Fig

Taste: Peat Smoke Chili Spices Sweet Nuts metallic youth citric zest

Finish: oily, slightly dry Oak

Comment: Talisker is one of my top favourite whisky brands, so this one has made me happy as well. Smoky with marine character with little touches of fruit and citric freshness. A bit aggressive on the tongue, probably because it is a young no age statement whisky, but it still deserves a 5 star rating

Nosing: Oak Honey Orange Spices Peat Smoke Maritime Notes Salt

Taste: Orange Pepper Oak Bonfire Smoke Caramel

Finish: Long dry and spicy.

Comment: The sweetness that hits first is like a barley sugar slowly dissolving over your tongue. Some citrus fruits come next and toward the back pepper and peat take you into a torrent of tannin and spice provided by contact with fresh oak. A small caramel note lingers at the end. A great mid week dram!
