The company
The Vintage Malt Whisky Company Ltd. was founded in 1992 by Brian Crook. Crook had previously worked for many years as an export director in the whisky industry. His aim was to make high-quality malt whiskies from Scotland available to independent importers worldwide. In its first 25 years, the company exported more than 10 million bottles to over 30 countries. Brands from the Highlands & Islands Scotch Whisky Co. joined the group in 1997, followed by the acquisition of C.S. James & Sons (including Islay Storm) in 2005. As part of the Independent Bottlers' Challenge, Vintage Malt was honoured as Lowland Independent Bottler of the Year in 2016.
The range
The Vintage Malt Whisky Company's portfolio includes several award-winning brands, including Finlaggan, The Ileach and Islay Storm.
The Cooper's Choice single cask range offers a broad spectrum - from bottlings from well-known distilleries to exclusive single cask and grain whiskies. These appear in limited form and are characterised by a variety of cask finishes.
Within The Golden Cut Collection, a premium line of the Cooper's Choice series, the independent bottler presents hand-picked single cask bottlings and small batches of single malts and single grains from selected Scottish distilleries. They are bottled at 50% vol., without chill-filtration and without colouring - for an authentic, unadulterated taste experience.
