The company
Lady of the Glen is the premium brand of the independent bottler Hannah Whisky Merchants Ltd, founded in 2012 by Gregor Hannah in Fife, Scotland. The company specialises in bottling rare single cask whiskies.
Founder Gregor Hannah 's passion for whisky was awakened at an early age by his father - a Scottish bagpiper who often received bottles of whisky as thanks at festivals. This early enthusiasm eventually led to the founding of Hannah Whisky Merchants.
The name Lady of the Glen is inspired by the legend of the "green lady" who, according to tradition, walks around Stirling Castle. The floral design of the bottles picks up on this connection to Scottish nature.
The whiskies come from some of Scotland's finest private distilleries in the Speyside, Highland, Lowland and Islay regions. All bottlings are bottled by hand at natural cask strength, without chill-filtering or colouring, and are hand-numbered.
The range
The Lady of the Glen range includes limited edition single cask bottlings from carefully selected distilleries in the Speyside, Highlands, Lowlands and Islay regions. Each cask is individually tested and bottled by hand, making each edition unique.
The casks used come from renowned European family businesses, including bodegas from Spain and Portugal as well as wineries from Italy and France. This variety of casks of origin gives the bottlings complex flavour profiles and a high degree of individuality.
All whiskies are bottled at natural cask strength. They are 100% natural, i.e. without colouring or chill-filtering.
A special highlight in the range is the Samhain Series. This limited series honours the Celtic festival of Samhain, which marks the transition from harvest time to winter and is known for its stories about ghosts and mythical creatures. Each bottling in the series reflects this mystical atmosphere in its presentation and flavour profile. The hand-drawn labels were created by Scottish artist Steven Shand.
