Strathisla G&M
I never had a bad Strathisla from G&M, when it was dark enough to come from a Sherry cask. There are also good ones up to 1972. There had been some light golden coloured bottles from Strathisla as well. They missed the intense oak influence from the cask.
Nice review
Thanks for sharing your whisky with us.
I'm saving money to buy an special old whisky, but due to the prices of the distillery bottles, the independent bottlers seem to be the best choice for those who want to enjoy with an old malt. I'm looking at the Gordon & MacPhail range, but i don't know which distillery to go for, Macallan is always a good buy (i really enjoy their whisky), but the Speymalt range is more expensive than these less known malts, and are also less special. Your review convince me to go for a Strathisla if i'm able to find it when i get the money.
Can you recomend me some similar malts in character to this one? (Not necessarily that old, save money for one of those is enought for me at the moment ;)...)
Thank you.
