Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold
I'm only just starting to enjoy single malts and I have to say Dalwhinnie is one of my favourites up till now. My tastings include the 15y, the distiller's edition and recently Winter's Gold. I can really appreciate Winters' Gold for its softness and its delicate character, though it is rather young and possibly not fully developed. The light aftertaste of molasses doesn't bother me at all, even though I'm absolutely no rum addict... Are you maybe disturbed by the fact that molasses is not an original European sweetner and therefor not inherent to Scottish distilling principles? Or am I completely wrong because of my lack of experience?
