I am often asked, why I am not giving quality or other points to a whisky after a tasting.

Well - that is not easy. First I do not think that a single vote from one individual somewhere on the planet will give accurate results to somebody else elsewhere. The wisdom of the masses is much more important. Therefore we have our Whisky Database with tens of thousands of ratings from ten thousand individuals.

But if you watch carefully, then you are able to see differences. If a whisky is bad. I say so. If a whisky is just normal, I sip just once. If a whisky is a very good one, I taste it twice. And if it is extraordinarily outstanding. I empty the glass.

But I do not dare to say more.

Kind regards, Horst Luening, Master Taster, Whisky.com

Yes, I noticed that too... if you drink a sip and leave the glass with an unfinished whisky, I know it must be bad. However, I have not seen a whisky which is so good that you pour for another glass to drink...:lol::lol:

Yes, I never poured a second one in front of the camera

The opened bottles are spread between my friends. If there is one I like very much, then I keep these bottles. The last ones I kept were:
    Johnnie Walker King George V
    Suntory Yamazaki Sherry Cask
    Glendronach 1995

I will take a video of my open bottles quite soon.
