when water is added in the mashing process is it

    * important the the water is sourced locally from a stream or well?

    * does the source of the water contribute to the taste of the end product?

    * does the local geology around the distillery have an impact on the water quality that is used ?

Hi, of course, water greatly affects the taste of whiskey. The best option is of course water from the source. Many are building factories directly near the new source, so that there is always access to clean water. I make whiskey at home and I do not have the opportunity to take water from the source, so I use . The quality and taste of the whiskey that I get is quite satisfied!
