Since Horst did the Glenfarclas 12 yo today I remembered one question that has been on my mind for a while.

Does anybody know if there is a quality difference between the family casks from Glenfarclas and their regular bottlings. Especially when it comes the the age. As the family casks are more expensive than the regular range. Or maybe you pay more for the rarity of buying a bottle which is a vintage.

Yes, they are a lot more expensive. And the range of the Family Cask is much bigger than the regular vintages. The FC are all in cask strength as well.

Are they worth the money? I had two on my cask here in my vlog. Just search for 'Family Cask'.

It depends really on the depth of your pocket. Both were really good. They are most often bought as gifts for anniversaries or birthdays. And for this reason people are willing to pay extra.
