Johnnie Walker Blue label

    Hey all
    Just a quick question.
    Does anyone know why some blue label bottles have a number on it and some dont?

    As i bought a bottle from the shops, no number. But bought a slightly older bottle from the second hand market and it has the numbering IG1 29503

    My guess is age. Is your older bottling also at 43%? I know They recently dropped thé stregth to 40% when They added thé fancier style bottle.
