Karuizawa. I have never even heard that name before. I really have to travel to Japan some day.

does the Compass Box Flaming Heart fit your "super sweet and super smoky" criteria?

    Lagavulin D.E. 1997-2013

and a little bit behind it
    Ardbeg Corryvreckan
    Talisker D.E. 2002-2013
for my short 6-year experience

I would consider them heavily peated, but they are not as peaty as an Ardbeg Supernova. But I have to say the Lagavulin Distillers Edition is very close.

Ralfy has been saying good things about Compass Box, would be nice if you guys do a review on them. I like what I am hearing from John Glaser, and to me it is not so different with what is being done with the Glenmorangie Signet, or The Dalmore King Alexander III, except of course these last two are from a single distillery.

I wasn't able to find Ardbeg Supernova, but I like peateness and power of Lagavulin D.E. 1997 and especially its rubber notes. I can nose it for hours. And I find it more complex and dry in taste rather than standard 16 y.o.
D.E. 1998 is quite another, too sweet.

Unfortunately we don't have the Compass box in our range, yet. We will have a chat with our suppliers and have a look if this is a product for us. After we introduce it, we will certainly make a video.

that would be great. I have yet to see any Compass Box in the flesh since I mostly buy at Duty Free.
