I have been offered the chance to purchase a 200 litre cask of 5 year old Craigellachie whisky as an investment by vintagewhiskycasks.

    The sales 'pitch' is:
"The distiller needs funds to continue its daily operations. They sell the young spirits to investors, and therefore have access to operational funds. Once the investor wishes to sell the spirits (at an appropriate age) the distillery will purchase the cask and use it in their bottling process. The casks are stored at the distillery property and are stored and insured for a moderate annual fee"
While it sounds quite reasonable that the distillery should operate in this manner. I wish to verify that this is a worthwhile investment.
For a 200 litre cask: Typically
What might be my purchase price for a 5 year old whisky?
What might be my selling price be for an 18 year old whisky?
What might be my selling price be for a 25 year old whisky?

Is it really possible to purchase an entire cask of a whiskey such as Craigellachie ?

    What say you?
