30 year old tradition - Help needed!

Hi folks, I've been invited to a 30 year old time honoured tradition whisky bash with my father. There have been men who have come and gone over the 30 years but 3 of them remained constant. With Covid this year unfortunately one of them is unable to make it for the first time in its history and so this year I have a seat at the table. 

I'm not a huge whisky drinker (have the odd glass around Christmas) and the requirements are to bring a bottle of single malt. My knowledge isnt great and I dont want to embarass myself. Budget is circa £40-£60. Any help would be amazing!
