It is well known that Glendronach 18 Allardice has been older than 18 years old for a while because the distillery was closed in 1996. Now, some sources say it reopened in 2001, and others 2002.
I have a bottle that was bottled in 2018, so I know that is definitely pre-closure. However, my more recent bottle is from June 2019. When I compared both bottles, I could swear I got a note of younger fruit in the newer bottle. Could Glendronach already be putting "new" 18 year old whisky in the recent bottles? If not, does anyone know exactly when they will have been open for 18 years?
