My girlfriends dad recently offered me some of this 1970’s bottling Chivas Regal 12year he had purchased in the 70’s! In un-opened condition and original tax seal still on it. I must say this was an amazing pour! visually the color is a dark gold-brown color On the nose there were warm spices like cider spices, vanilla and toffe notes come out. The palate explodes with a peppery spice but quickly fades to a sweet toffe flavor, some cireus appears with a honey suckle note light notes of Coffee/burnt toffee appear maybe some smoke but I can’t be to sure. If the Chivas now was blended in this same taste and fashion I would buy it every time!!! I feel there are some good older whiskies in this blend I don’t know for sure but it was amazing to say the least. I have bought some expensive highly regarded scotch and this compares to most of not tops them.
