Best spirit stores in CA

Hi there. I'm looking for good places to buy scotch in CA. I live on the Central Coast (San Luis Obispo) and shopping is very limited here. I can travel up north to the Bay Area or down south to Santa Barbara and LA, but I don't know where the good shops are. I've done some internet searching and called a few stores, but sadly most of the people I get on the phone don't know what I'm talking about when I mention Laphroaig or Lagavulin. I want to find shops where people know those brands like the backs of their hands. Please let me know where you've shopped and had a good experience with variety, price, and employee/owner knowledge. Thanks!

K & L has better prices, and quick delivery

The whisky shop carries more of the harder to find labels, but they are not

cheap.

@keppela if you head up to the bay area, go to K&L or Total Wine & More, both have tons of scotch for the best prices around. You can check out their websites to see what they have and how much it costs. At Total Wine & More Lagavulin 16 is usually $55.

In LA theres a place called Wine and Liquor depot  is a good one which has a LOT of scotch, but the prices arent on their website.
