Anyone have any experience with Hunter Laing bottlings good or bad? I'm thinking of getting Bruichladdich 19yo and a Highland Park 17yo and hear some of the independent bottlings are hit or miss.
Hunter Laing is quite new and a Douglas Laing 'split-off'. The old DL (and their casks) were split into two seperate companies. Hence, the quality of the malts should be identical.
Most DL (and HL) bottlings I have encountered so far were pretty decent, similiar to Gordon & MacPhail and Cadenhead's. Read Serge's reviews on whiskyfun or search your bottles on whiskybase where you will most likely find some reviews.
Hope this helps.
