I understand that the Nadurra peated by Glenlivet is not peated Barley, instead it's Glenlivet matured in a cask that was used to mature a heavily peated whiskey. Has anyone tried this and how peaty(or smokey) does it actually taste?
that would be similar to The Glenrothes Peated Cask Reserve
I saw the scotch test dummies review both and they seemed to think the Glenlivet was more peaty. I found the glenrothes lacking peat but haven't tried Glenlivets version.
Interesting, will check out some reviews, however I'm not so in tune with the scotch test dummies’ style.
I actually have both the Glenrothes peated and Glenlivet peated. Perhaps this is the excuse I needed to open both :-)
