    Hi,

What can be a good entry point to Macallan single malt for a newbie like me?
I have seen in web DataBase that Macallan 12YO is no longer available in Europe.
    There are something below 50€?

    Thank you.

    Sienna as an entry point?
I have to say that I have tasted the 12, Gold, Amber and Sienna.

Sienna was way better than the 12 if I am not mistaken, and Amber was "closer" to the 12 (more than the Sienna for sure).

Also, the price range of the 12 and Amber (in Canada) is similar. The Sienna is way more expensive.
I think we can get a better idea of the 12 by tasting the Amber. The Sienna was really superior in my limited opinion.

Then go for the Amber if you like it.

I think the Mac 12 lovers here in Europe are missing something in the Amber. The Sienna has this missing part and a bit more. The problem is the price tag. It doesn't justify the "bit more" regarding the Mac 12 and it's prices of 2 years ago. Over here you have to pay the double price for a similar malt - without an age statement on it.

I haven't drank too many Macallan's, but the Amber was disappointing. Would rather buy some other whisky in the same price range than the Amber x)
