There is a DD/MM/YYYY etched-laser code on 1litre Ardbeg bottles. What does it means?

What does the single digit number on the bottom base of Ardbeg Ten bottle means? Why do some bottles have no. "6" while others have no. "7"?

Some new glass bottles of Ardbeg Ten have obvious differences, does it matter?

    Thank you very much.

Every bottle has to have a code with which you can find the production batch. This is for safety and healthy reasons. Sometimes you find a clearly readable code - sometimes not. That depends on the brand. The L6 or L7 code typically identified the year of production in former times.
