Can anyone please enlighten me why we don't chill our whisky before consumption even though we drink whisky with ice balls or cold stones? Thank you!

As I do neither I couldn't say... except that for me, flavours are more accessible at "normal" temperatures, so I tend to drink my whisky at room temperature (or even warmer, if in winter the temperature doesn't keep up...:lol:smile:.

I have the same opinion as SancTom. And I like to add that I drink beverages that refresh me chilled or with ice cubes. Like a cup of cider.

Chilling a drink, any drink, reduces the available flavor. If I really want to taste my beer or white wine, I drink them at room temperature, too.
