I had a chance to taste Corsair Triple Smoke a few days ago. I enjoyed it thoroughly. They use three batches of malt smoked separately with peat, beechwood, and cherry wood. For those of you who like Islay single malts, you have to give this one a try. It may give you a new perspective on Bourbon/Tennessee whiskey.
For what it's worth, the Corsair won the 2013 "Artisan Whiskey Of The Year" from Whisky Advocate. It also won a gold medal in the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2010.
Sounds interesting. No corn involved, all malt... could be something for me
It was nothing if not interesting.
I really should not have typed Bourbon. It's not a Bourbon. Not sure whether it's from KY or TN, b/c they have distilleries in both states. I think the bottle that was poured for me said Tennessee on it. It is all barley malt.
