Default Newbie Wants To Know

I probably have no business being on this board at all due to my limited knowledge but have acquired a bottle of Old Par from a friend who was ready to toss b/c it has been in her basement for many, many years. It is unopened and I have two questions:

Would it still be considered safe to drink after residing in a damp basement in Atlanta for well over 60 years? Is there a market for this scotch and if so, how can I determine the value and where might I sell it?

Thank you.

Safe to drink, only if the seal hasn't been broken. If most of it is still in there than yes it should be fine. Value...not much. Yes it is an old bottle, but the whisky inside is still young. Has some value to a collector, but good luck finding one. Gift it to a whisky drinker friend or family.

Have to agree with this assessment.
I've only bought a bottle of Old Parr once, to settle my curiosity. Since it was so cheap it wasn't a very expensive experiment and if I were to drink it again, I think I'd want some ice to make it more drinkable.

Since this whisky isn't so good to drink and is as old as you say it is, its better to keep it as a collectible and drink something better
