Default Chivas Regal Liqueur

I have an interesting bottle of chivas regal liqueur whisky that refuses to be identified.
It is enclosed in a wax type wrapper that when opened revel the name 'saccon and speed' - I understand this to be an extinct Gibraltar based company .
The bottle sealed with a red wax seal.

Anyone got any thoughts about its origin and history please. ????

This company used to be owned by Courage Breweries who were bought by the Hanson Trust and then sold to Fosters beers. Somewhere in this the brand and company name were lost, as were many other brands and companies during amalgamations in the 1980's. Don;t know where the tie up with Chivas happened as it doesn't appear that they were involved in the company

Thanks blenderm!

Jim, can you post photos of your bottle?

Enjoy Thailand - lucky you! I've had two great trips there - loved it!

Saconne & Speed are just the American importers, The bottle dates form before the late 1960's when Chivas started to change the label design but how much before you'd have to ask Chivas, because of the old label it may possibly be worth quite a bit more than face value to a collector

Default CR bottle

This bottle appears to be c1938 - 1950 - before the standard 12 Year old came out in the USA. Interesting bottle. Is it sealed and intact?
What are your plans for it?

Default chivas

Thanks for the information everyone.
From my own research, i found out that the bottle is dated around the 1940s era although there is no real way of authenticating this.
In answer to the last post, the bottle is sealed and shows no sign of tampering. The whisky inside is at the level one would expect. The paper cover is, however, rather tired but i guess it would do at this age. I have no real plans or thoughts either way.
If someone came along and offered me a fair price, I would take the bottle back to scotland with me in October and send it from there.
