Can you drink whiskey while it's aging in a barrel, like pour some out and drink it or will it stop the aging or something?

That's what happens at the distilleries to check on experimental runs or how a new style is ageing, the sample you take will stop ageing though. The big problem is how to interpret what you get from the sample. If it's just for fun and to enjoy it the go for it, it won;t harm the rest of the cask.
