Default Black & White / Four Roses Unopened Value

I have 2 bottles of unopened whiskey bottles. I don't know much about them and wanted to see if anyone could provide more info (date, value, etc...).

Any help would be appreciated!

The first bottle is Black & White Blended Scotch Whisky and the second is Four Roses Blended Whiskey.

Default Black&White / Four Roses

phish223,

Your Black & White appears to be from pre-1953, as it is dedicated to "the King" on the Royal Warrant...but I'd need to see the Tax Stamps to get you a finer dating.
(Your probably in the $80-120 range on this one.)

The same goes for the Four Rose whisky...need to see the stamps. (Not as collectable as older Scotch Whisky, but I think you could get between $50-80 for this one.)

I can give you a valuation on both once I can narrow down the bottle dates, and having closer dates can get you a better price.
I would probably be interested in making an offer for the Black & White, to add to my collection, as I collect both sealed Spring-Cap bottles, and Black & White.

Cheers,

Default Black&White and Four Roses

OK...That's helpfull - Thank you !

Your Black & White is getting a bit rough in shape, but can be dated to about 1943-45...This bottle should have had a White painted Lead-foil wrapper over the cap, but under the US tax stamp.
Towards the end of WWII, the company didn't add the lead-foil as it was need for the war effort.
(Try to protect what's left of the tax stamp - This is not a really valuable bottle, worth about $65-80 in current condition...but without the lead-foil wrap, people lose alot of faith in the bottle
once the Tax Stamp is broken. Once the stamp breaks, it worth about $20-35.)

Your Four Roses is in much better shape, and dates to the early-mid 1940's: Should be worth about $50-$75, though the volume is getting abit low.

Not sure if you drink whisky at all, but I've tried both of these from about the same age, and the Black & White is rather rough tasting...the Four Roses was a bit better for drinking, and an older bottle
like yours will probably taste better than one made after the 1960's due to differant distilling equipment used.

I still collect Black & White bottles even though I'll never drink it again, but that's because I'm particularly fond of the Spring-Cap closure; I bought 3 more this week, so my collection keeps growing.

Cheers,
Walter C Hurst

Thank you so much for the info. Much appreciated!

I think I'll keep it in a safe place and forget about them for a while =)
