Default Any information on "Barrister Bourbon" bottle?

I recently purchased this full bottle of bourbon, and I am wondering if anyone has any information about it. The label says simply "Barrister Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Bottled & Guaranteed by The Eddy & Fisher Co., Providence, R.I., Contents 1 Quart" (see photos). The only apparent marking on the glass itself is a "B" on the bottom of the bottle, and it is sealed with a driven cork and lead capsule. The person that I purchased it from indicated that the bottle was discovered beneath a staircase with a fair amount of soot/dust on it, and indicated that it was likely stashed away prior to or during Prohibition. The only information I could find online regarding Eddy & Fisher (from pre-pro.com) was that they were listed in a directory from 1911 under "Liquors, Wholesale", and located at 29-31 Pine Street. I also found some documentation relating to a trademark infringment dispute between Gordon's Dry Gin and Eddy & Fisher, regarding the latter's use of a boar's head on their bottles. Any further information about this bottle would be greatly appreciated!

Default Barrister Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Interesting bottle...Saw this one when it was available, adn almost bought it, but I couldn't find anything on it either.

The Company may have been an independant bottler, as was often popular back in the early 1900's...Company's would import booze in barrels of Whisky, Rum & other spirits, then bottle them under their own label.

Cheers,
Walter C Hurst

Eddy & Fisher may also have been a Rhode Island based distributor or retail store.

Default Eddy & Fisher

Thanks, Walter and Dale--I live not too far from Providence, RI and may have to do some further investigation into the Eddy & Fisher Co. sometime when I'm in town. I'll let you know what I find out!

Cheers,

Mike

Can't help with Barrister but found some info on E & F Co.

Page at pre-pro.com

PDF file shows Eddy & Fisher may have run into a bit of
trouble with Gordon’s Dry Gin Co., Ltd. in 1917. E & F's
Clicquot Dry Gin bottle/label looks similar to Grodon's
(bottles shown side-by-side in upper right)

Google books page on the lawsuit.

Default Eddy & Fisher

Interesting page, Silverfish--the Gordon's and E & F Co. bottles do look quite similar!
