Default Hankey Bannister

I wondered if anyone had any experience / thoughts around this quirky blended whisky? It particularly caught my eye as I noticed it was a category winner in the World’s Best Scotch Blended Whisky.

I've had a bit of a surf around and it seems, like some other blends, to enjoy greater popularity overseas. Any thoughts on what appears to be quite interesting proposition?

Cheers

Simppa - unfortunately this is one I have not had the luxury of tasting - yet. Let's see if someone else can chime in on their tasting experience with Hankey Bannister.....

Anybody with any update out there on this blend?

If not, I will see what is being poured by them at next weeks' Extravaganza in New York and then report back.

Right now, only their base blend "original" is posted for sale in New York. And as is typical with their distributor (a big guy I won't bash by name, yet?), I've never been shown the product - another brand dying in their warehouse!

Default Hankey Bannister Update

Sorry, I forgot to report back. I went to the SMWS's NY Extravaganza and low and behold the Hankey Bannister wasn't poured. So I still have no idea how it tastes and the monster distributor has the brand in NY still hasn't brought it to me to taste. I'm beginning to believe they could care less about selling it? But this is the case for half their portfolio; and, if you're sensing my disdain for these monster company's and their commitment to the monster brands of generally insipid product, your right in your assessment. So without having yet tasted the blend, I'll happily resign myself to sticking with the Rosebank 18 I have recently acquired.

If someone out there has had Hankey Bannister, I'd be interested in your notes.
