grand old parr 43%

I just received a bottle of Grand Old Parr as a gift form a friend. The bottle pre-dates the purchase of the distillery by Diageo. The bottle is unopened (although I am curious as to what it tastes like).

I would like to know the worth of the bottle. I have done some back checking and have found some information, but am bewildered as to why this brand is not readily available in the US.

Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.

Update!
I am happy to report that I am the proud owner of a Grand Old Parr which dates back to the 60s! I am waiting for a special occasion to drink it! Yay me!!! :-D
