Default JoJo: Please Help

Looking for a Old Rip Van Winkle 23 year Decanter gift set, I live in Kentucky, but would be will to travel pretty far and pay significantly above retail for this item... any suggestions on where to find?

Buy an overpriced one off ebay. In completed auctions, the
last unsold one was priced at $700 + $15. shipping. The last
one that sold was priced at $850. + free shipping.

The shipping charges would probably be less than your travel
costs.

THANKS Silverfish! We are also asking around to see if there are any other places to try.

I belong to a Bourbon forum and there is a thread
dedicated to the ORVW 23 Year Decanter Set. To
give you an idea of pricing, here is a short list of
recent sets posted with location and the price paid:

Feb. 2012 - Rochester, NY - MSRP ("...couldn't believe it!")
Jan. 2012 - Nashville, TN - $700.
Dec. 2011 - Detroit, MI - $500.
Dec. 2011 - Nashville, TN - $400.
Oct. 2011 - Cincinnati, OH - "regular retail price"

(I think the original price was $300 - $350. but I could
be mistaken.)

Just an FYI to wsladd - there are some dedicated
Bourbon hunters out there competing against you.
Which isn't to say you should abandon your search.
On the contrary - keep looking & sending out feelers
and if you get even the hint of a sighting, don't hesitate
to pull the trigger.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
