I'll see if I can find info. I did spot something on Ebay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Glenfiddich-...-/180706238603

is this what you have? While I'll see about getting some details - for a value, try www.mctears.com or www.bonhams.com - both companies specialize in valuations.

There was a bottling as shown in your pic of Glenfiddich and it was in an Edinburgh crystal decanter[you should check the bottom of the bottle for the etched Edinburgh name - its not always clear].
The stag head is pure silver to the best of my recollection. I used to have a colored picture from Edinburgh used as a sales brochure.
I 'thought' it was a 30 yr offering and perhaps there were two bottlings at 25 and 30 yr - not sure.
In any case, the 30 yr MSRP was - $3000!!
There was one on Ebay recently but I came in 2nd on the bidding.
These are fairly rare IMO.
There was a recent offering BUT it was listed under Edinburgh crystal so the scotch enthusiasts probably never saw it - it sold for $660[A STEAL] - I came in second in the bidding. The current listing on Ebay starts at $4000!

Our contact at Glenfiddich tells us...."We have an idea on value for the 25yr in silver stag decanter. Regular auction can expect $2500-$3000, but you never know as it's a real historic collectible rather than drinking whisky. Important to distinguish it from the more recent crystal decanters which are 30yr whisky but not as rare and worth less."

Default 25 Year Glenfiddich Silver Stag Decanter

I have just been given this bottle by my Father-in-Law. It is pristine and was purchased in the 70's. The scroll inside numbers it as an early lot number. Unsure of value and how to liquidate. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Eric, if you are located in the US, try contacting www.bonhams.com - they can value your bottle as well as put it up for auction if this is what you'd like to do. Keep us posted.
