Default White Horse Cellar

I just rec'd a 4/5 brown bottle of White Horse blended scotch whiskey. the number on the bottle is TA1778142, it has a hinged top, and came in a cardboard/paper box. I want to know when it was made, is it safe to drink, and is it worth too much to open.

Using the photographs you provided, your bottle of White Horse has been dated from 1954-1956.
