Default Bowmore Celebrating 40 years of success 1966-2006

Hello,
I'm looking to learn more about this bottle (bottled and matured at Bowmore Distillery/Islay).
It says: Celebrating Forty Years of Success 1966-2006, Islay Single Malt
Scotch Whisky, an exclusive limited edition bottling of the finest malt scotch whisky taken from one single hogshead cask, Cask 20013, Bottle 194/220, non-chill filtered. Short, round shaped bottle, 700ml
Look to learn more about value, taste, cost, whether it's a collectors item and would become more valuable of hold it, or if I should just drink it and enjoy!!
Appreciate anything one can tell me.

Unfortunately I don't have any information on this specific bottling. Perhaps this could be an independent bottling as Bowmore has not released a 40YO since the 1955 40YO they released in 1995. Please post some clear photos of your bottle and I then may be able to provide more info.

Don't know this bottle. But i know some other C#200xx bottlings and those are 1996/2006 bottlings. So I assume this one is too. I don't think this bottle is gonna bring in big money any time soon, unless you can find a Bowmore collector who really, really wants it.
I think you should open it and enjoy it.
Hope this helps

Default Bowmore Celebrating 40 years of success 1966-2006

Don't know this bottle either. It is always helpful to supply all information on the label. This sounds to me to be a CELEBRATORY bottling for a 40 year milestone of some sort the way the Forum comment / question is worded, not a 40-Year-Old Bowmore. The reason I say this without knowing any information from the label or who bottled it is because it seems odd that a single hogshead cask would yield 200 bottles from a hogshead that has slept for 40 years. The bottle yield should be much less at 2% evaporation per year. Morrison / Bowmore Company was founded before 1966.

Can you provide pictures or label information?

found it http://www.whiskyparadise.com/dettag...DArticolo=9504

Again, the cask no. suggests that it is a young bowmore. You could contact whiskyparadise to find out more about this bottle. They're very knowledgable, and have one of the largest collections of Single Malts in the world

Cally463 - where did you get this bottle of Bowmore? The reason we ask is because we found out what you have is definitely not an official bottling from the Bowmore distillery and no one from there has ever seen it before.

I don't know anything about it, but that is one beautiful bottle of whisky!
I wonder if it lists the indy that bottled it on the back label?

Default Bowmore Ltd Edition

JoJo .. thank you! Yes, the bottle shown in the whiskeyparadise link is the exact bottle! I have three of them .. the back says was made for the UK Market but I have no idea where it was purchased. One of the bottles says 194 of 220. I will also contact whiskeyparadise to see if they can tell me more about it. This is great .. thanks for your pursuit!!

Default Similar Bottle

I have a similar bottle with a cask# of 20014 and a bottle# of 129/300. Searching the web I found the following posting at www.scotchwiskyauctions.com:

"One-off bottling of an 11 year old Bowmore for the Duncan Group to celebrate 40 years of existence. 1966-2006. Bottled at 46% from cask no 20013. Bottle no 100 of only 220 bottles."

It sold for 50 British Pounds Sterling back in 2010. Hope this helps.
