Default Whiskey for my 21st birthday

Hey everyone. I am about to turn 21 and am looking to make my first legal alcohol purchase. I want to purchase an excellent bottle of whiskey. My current whiskey experience has been: Windsor, Knob Creek, Crown Royal, Jack Daniels, Evan Williams, etc.

I figure I only turn 21 once and want to buy a really nice bottle. I want something that is high class and has a good taste. I know very little about whiskey though and figured that I would ask everyone.

The bottle I have been considering is Crown Royal XR. Would this be a good choice? If not, what bottle would you suggest? Thanks for your help!

21 Year Glenlivet would be a good 21st birthday whisky, and it would get you in to Scotch to boot. It runs around $135-150 USD, and would be a fairly easy move from the whiskies you've mentioned. If the price is a little high, have a few friends, dad or grandpas kick in a little. The party will be the sharing.
