happy new year jo!

we had our scotch tasting and while some of the scotches were misses with my friends (they haven't quite aquired a taste for them yet) they did like the Glenrothes Select Reserve, the Glengoyne 12 year and of course the Edradour Cream Whiskey. the Ardbeg 10 year (first time i tried it too) only went over with my husband. the rest of us couldn't handle that much peat. not really shocked by that though. the Uigeadail was good as was the Talisker. i can handle a wee bit of peat but not too much!

I, too, had my first taste of Ardbeg 10 to ring in the new year! Marvelous!

the Ardbeg 10 year definitely has some oompf to it! i preferred the Ardbeg Uigeadail personally. it's a LOT less peaty. i'm not really into the Island/Islay scotches but i do enjoy a dram of Talisker every once in a while.
