Are you referring to the French Oak Reserve 15yo or just the 15yo (which I understand is available mainly in duty free shops)? The 15yo French Oak Reserve is fruity, spicey, cedar wood, citrus. Well balanced - long, creamy finish. The Glenlivet 15yo - while I have not had the pleasure of tasting (yet) - has been noted by Martine Nouet as being "Soft and tender. Stewed fruit. Vanilla syrup. Spices gently emerge." -and - part of Dave Broom's description reads - "More interesting to start: apple purée, flowers then the oak grips. Sappy."

I find the Glenlivet 15 year old reserve to be well balanced with a relaxed finish. No unpleasant aftertaste. It's towards the sweeter side of single malts and it's softer than a lot of Scotches. Definite nut and vanilla flavors.
