Default Did Dewar's Once Make a Now-Discontinued High-End Blend?

I have a faint recollection of a very, very smooth Dewar's blend -- maybe from the 50s or 60s. I think it had an "and" in the name. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

"Ancestor" might be it! Does that ring any bells? Ancestor was one of Dewar's two main deluxe brands in the early 1900s - the other being Ne Plus Ultra. Ancestor was initially named Victoria Vat and was introduced in 1907. In 1954, it was renamed "Ancestor".

And just a bit more info on Ancestor - production was ceased in 2007. It was replaced by Dewar's 12 from 2000 onwards and was gradually withdrawn from all markets. Dewars also briefly had a blended malt whisky - Dewar's Pure Malt (no longer available), but this does not sound like what you are referring to.

Ne Plus Ultra and Ancestor were both eventually sold as 12 year old blends from the around the 1970's before that they didn't quote an age, apart from the modern variants, they were the only 2 aged ones they sold
