Default Dougherty's Rye Whiskey

Attached is a photo of an unopened bottle of Dougherty's Rye Whiskey owned by an old friend. The label says pre-Prohibition, distilled before 1918. The bottle has a plastic cap with intact paper tax stamp/seal.

My internet research has yeilded very little information about the distiller or this particular variety of whiskey.
Can anyone here help provide information, historical or otherwise, about this example and whether or not it has a collector value?

All assistance is greatly appreciated.

Distillery info here and at google books.

As far as what it's worth, most "collectors" I know (myself included)
would place "value" on the contents for drinking purposes and not as
any "Collectors Item" so I can't help there.

Thank you , Silverfish.

I was hoping someone could enlighten me as well about how such a late bottle could/would be labeled "Pre-Prohibition". It is obviously post WWII and possibly much later.

Poper, I contacted Digger from BottleBooks.com and this is what he said:

The bottle in question is New...it has the Federal Law Prohibits which dates it between 1932 and 1964 and clearly with a plastic cap it dates 1950-1964.

Here is some Trademark info:

A bit more info from Digger.... he states that this whisky could have been made in 1917 - but not bottled until later. I have seen many early post prohibition bottles such as this - the plastic cap however is a problem.
