Default Very cool - 100 year old Scotch...but not "really" a 100 years old.

I read this yesterday - it really is an amazing story! They should at least try it - I agree. I'll be first in line.

I really don't understand the logic of not opening at least one bottle and having a special tasting event by known Scotch experts . It would certainly be interesting to get their opinions on a vintage this old compared to Scotch made today .

Doing "extracting some by needles" ?.......doesn't make any sense and they don't need 11 bottles to do that , just bloody well open some up

Yah, this baffle's me... 11 bottles??? Open a couple for some invited experts like Nitehawk suggests. Auction off one (or more) to help fund the restoation or for a charity. There'd still be plenty left over to get the point across that they brought whisky on their journey.

Just my $0.02cdn

That would be a great idea to auction some off , I'll bet it would fetch a good price and do a lot more good that what they have planned for it .
