Hello my fellow whiskey lovers.
I got my hands on an old bottle of John Dewar and sons. I got this bottle from my mother. It has been in her late husbands possession. He in turn got it from his father who allegedly got it as a graduation gift. That would put it probably in the late 1920 if the information is correct. Does anyone got any specific info on this one? The label is quite damaged so I can't make out a year so age would be interesting to know. Any clues to a possible monetary value. Gratefull for answers. /chefren

You're in the right area on age but I feel that it's more likley to be early 1930's, this label started out as "Old Highland Whisky" and the company was credited with being based in Perth N.B. ie North Britain. This address style stopped in the 30's and by 1938, or so, it was just Perth and London

Great bottle! I'd actually date it to earlier than 1927, at which time Dewar's switched to using a metal "spring cap" (your's appears to be sealed with a driven cork).
