A customer of mine happened to mention she and her husband were given 3 bottles of scotch when they got married, and the had yet to open them. This was 43 years ago. I mentioned that I LOVE scotch and she brought them in the following week and gave them to me. Bottled in 1967, they are a bottle of Teachers Highland Cream with the jigger cap, a bottle of Cutty Sark and a bottle of J & B RARE. The primary question is, are they still drinkable? The secondary question is are they in any way valuable?

The Teachers was produced between 1962 when they started using the jigger cap and 1987 when they stopped. There's always interest in this Teachers as many people remember them.
With the Cutty Sark and J&B I'd need to see the labels to date them but I agree they should be around the same time knowing they were given at the same time. The only way to tell if they're drinkable is to open them but if they've been kept in good condition, away from heat and sunlight then they should be fine. |

Looking at the labels they would appear to be from the same time.

Thanks again, any value to these unopened bottles?

Blends don't command the same prices as single malts. Looking at the McTears auctions over the past years or so you may get around £50 or so for the 3 but there's the sellers premium of 20% plus costs of getting them there so I'd say open and enjoy. Alternatively you could try Ebay but remember you're only selling the bottle, legally the contents are incidental but the bottles have to be unopened for anyone to buy them.

Good advice, I will simply enjoy them. Any opinions on the quality between the three?

J&B and Cutty Sark are lighter flavoured blends with Teachers much heavier as it has 45% malt so it's really which one you'd prefer.
