Default Wondering the Value of a Bottle of Cascade

I have a bottle of cascade tennessee sour mash wiskey that was made at the cascade distillers co. in normandy tennessee, it has a paper seal that is in tact, and says on the bottle old fashion rich-light, and also says mellow as moonshine, I was wondering the value since the company went out a long time ago, I think it was during the time of them not letting the distillerys be in tennessee and then the company was took over by someone else in kentucky, if you have any information on this it would be greatly appricated. thank you.

Would love for you to post photos if you can! Also, for a value, have you looked on ebay? Also, try mctears.com or bonhams.com We can *possibly* have it dated for you - but will definitely need to have photos.

According to information here, Cascade whiskey was distributed
by George A. Dickel & Company. Additional info here.

Most search result link Cascade & Dickel so perhaps your bottle
contents are an earlier version of the current Dickel offering?

Default If you look close------

Hi,the bottle its self tells the date. Screw on caps ,and the real Co. that bottled it.Also the newer Tax Seal. ! If you look close I think you will find your bottle will say the same as mine do. "Mellow As Moonlight" not "Mellow As Moonshine". This was registered Aug 29,1961 by the Geo.A Dickel Corperation Delaware , 350 5th ave,N.Y. It had been used off and on from 1938 by Dickel. I have your bottle in 1/2 gal, quart and I think 1/2 pint . Packed away out in my shop for my grandchildren so maybe 100 years from now will be worth something.. Dickel also bottled under "Pride Of Tennessee" " Sour Mash" in the 60s.
I built and owned a Liquor Store in Murfreesboro,Tn back in 1973. Over the many years I have saved some stuff. I always bought a bunch of closeouts and this Cascade was one of them, along with "Rebel Yell" when it had the Confenerate Flag on the front of the bottle. The mini Yell ,Confederate flag full bottle went from about $50 in mid 80s to $20 in late 90s to $6 in 2009. The nice decanters are bringing nothing. I have some from the 70s I gave $90 for that are worth $4-6 today. The only thing that has went up has been some of your full J.D. bottles, don't know why. Anyway that's part of what I know about Cascade. (my house if 18 miles from J.D. Distillery an 17 milrs from Dickel, beem here all my life) If you need anything else let me know)

Default P.s.

Your bottle is double sealed ,Tax strip and metal snap. I would advise you not to break them as your bottle will be worth more. I am looking for a 4/5s Cascade full bottle ,do you happen to have one?

Default kygirl--Cascade Sold for-----

F.Y.I.
Just to let you know how the market goes, you can see a "Cascade" that sold on Ebay last week. A very nice 1880s one gallon brown & tan jug from "Cascade Distillery" bottled by Geo.A. Dickel Co.(Nashville) sold for $35 thats right SOLD for $35.00. Go to Ebay and put 300388153504 in the search box. You will see where he started the auction at $16.99 . And when asked what he would sell it for on a Buy-It-Now the gentleman said $35.00 ! And it was sold! I talked to him on the phone and he told me he and his father had collected 1,500+ bottles and jugs over 50 years. He had sold almost all of them off on Ebay. And priced them to sell as the value had dropped on Liquor bottles, decanters, jugs in the last few years. This just proves this day and time there are bargains to be had out there.

Default ??? kygirl , I am lost ???

Tammy,I am lost ! Yesterday I sent you a reply to your emails you sent me. It was 5 paragraphs. I went into detail what all Cascade and or Dickel bottles from 1871 to 1980s are bringing.

The first sentence of that email told you after 4 different collectors, here an Nashville looked at your pics said "your Cascade bottle" " would bring anywhere from $30 to $65 at auction" on any given day !!!!!!!

Trying to help you I told you if you put any on Ebay you will have to pay a listing fee,a selling fee, and a PayPal fee to get your money, this is on each bottle. Forgot to tell you its got worse on Ebay someone bidding then not paying!
You received my reply email yesterday. This afternoon at 2:32 you sent me a email to me in reply to the above info, including what your bottle is worth.Your rely "I will let you know what I will take for mine" That was 8 min. after you posted this post asking me "what do you think the value of mine would be"!
I am lost, can you please tell me what I am missing?
Thanks, George

Default Your bottle has the right address on it !

One last thing, dont let whats on all the later (60s on) Dickel bottles fool you. As they state "Geo. A. Dickel & Co.Tullahoma Tennessee".
When in real truth Dickel Distillery has never been in Tullahoma Tn , the real address is 1950 Cascade Hollow Road Normandy,Tennessee 37360 ,the same address of the distillery as when I was a little boy. I can only think that as far back as the Civil War Tullahoma was a big (for us)town in Coffee county and Normandy was in a hollow in the middle of nowhere with a general store ,post office and a train depot. And some N.Y.guy in a 3 pc. suit with his feet up on his desk must have said,we are big time now so lets fudge a bit on where we really are, no one will know the difference or care! He was right,no one did except us few. Maybe this will stay in the minds of the young ones coming up,so they can keep the truth alive in their grandchildren as I have mine.
George

Dacanters can be tricky as far as a good seal over the years but if
you tip it and it doesn't leak, you should have no trouble enjoying
it (assuming you enjoy Tennessee Whisky).

Hi! I am interested in finding some old Cascade distillery liquor bottles like those mentioned above. My grandfather grew up in Normandy/Tullahoma, and would love to surprise him with a bottle or a few...Please let me know if anyone knows a good place to still find some!
