Question Sediment In Unopened Bottle

I was given by my parents a bottle of Hedges and Butler Royal DeLuxe Scotch Whiskey for my birthday.
I have noticed the bottle has some sediment in it. It has been stored in a cellar for all it life since my parents bought it many years ago.
The bottle has not yet been opened.
Is the Scotch still good, is this common and if so what is the best way to remove it, if it is preferable.
The bottle is label as product of Scotland, bottled in Australia.

Looking for to all suggestions.

Default un-chillfiltered

if a scotch is un-chillfiltered - which means the spirit was not filtered after being drawn from the cask in order to make it clear and get rid of any of the wood or sediments from the cask - then you may very well find sediment in your bottle. some say when it's filtered, it takes away from the true taste.
