For those of you who have had both, which is better?
The Balvenie: 12 yr Signature v. 15 yr Single Barrel? Glenfarclas: 15 yr (Europe) v. 17 yr (U.S.)? Full-power sherry bombs: Glenfarclas 105 v. Macallan Cask Strength v. Aberlour A'Bunadh? |

The better one is the one that you prefer. All malt whisky is personal, for example I really don't like to drink sherry whisky. If I want sherry I'll have a good amontillado not dilute my malt with it.
This'll start a heated discussion if nothing else |

Yeah, that was the point. I am just soliciting opinions for the sake of discussion.
I should have asked, "which do you prefer?" |

Personally, I prefer the 15yo Balvenie, I really don't like Glenfarclas but do like a couple of the Speysides, the older Glen Grants and, when I can get it Aultmore

I suppose I could have done a much better job of setting up this topic for discussion. I believe the 12yr Signature and 15 yr Single Barrel offerings from Balvenie are very similar. I have a preference, as I have tasted both of them, but I am curious what others think about them.
Same with Glenfarclas 15 and 17. I have tried both, but I am curious as to other's opinions. As for the sherry bombs offered at or near cask strength, I prefer A'Bunadh, with Mac CS coming in second. I don't care much for 105. |

Unfortunately while I've tried all the brands listed, none of them were the variations you've listed, so all I can do for the present is watch and learn. |
