Default Information Please

Hi guys,
I recently found a bottle of whisky left by my grandfather who passed away in 1990. This is a red wade 21 years old CHIVAS REGAL. Chivas is my favorite but actually I know nothing about it. I was supposed to open it but I'm not a professional taster, it might be a waste.
Could anybody provide me some information about this whisky please? Should I keep it or just sell it?

Default Chivas Red Wade 21 year

I have seen it go for 185 GBP. What do mean when you say "...I was supposed to open it..."

Chivas tell us this sounds like a bottle of Royal Salute 21 Year Old premium Scotch whisky. Royal Salute was launched in 1953 to commemorate the Queen’s Coronation. The first bottle was actually green and then a brown bottle was released. The packaging then changed to red, green and dark blue bottles, to represent the jewels in the Coronation crown. Today Royal Salute retails for around £90.

If you want more information - please post a few photos!

Default Royal Salute 1953 Royal Daulton green bottle/ complete w/ bag and original box

i have just been given an original ROYAL SALUTE 1953 Coronation label
in a Royal Daulton green bottle, green original pouch in perfect condition, and original gold box. Box a little scuffed from age. The bottle is original with all seals intact. The seal #36A6852802, unopened, clear plastic overseal has slight tear. The gold neck label is adhered UPSIDE DOWN.

I have pictures to send if necessary. Would you know the value of this package?

Thanks , Vic
