Something light would certainly be the way to go. Glenmorangie Original or Cragganmore 12. Both are light but with lots of flavor.

Some of the women I know (all novices to SMSW) have been favorable toward Glenmorangie Original, Highland Park 12, Macallan 12, and even Cardhu 12.

Edit: That said, people like what they like regardless of sex, so I would be comfortable making these recommendations for novices of either sex.
